Reception to follow in Brooks Commons

The Baccalaureate service is a gathering for Emory seniors, campus faith leaders and Emory administrators to collectively reflect upon and celebrate the Class of 2018's college experience during the past four years. Inspired by our diverse community, Emory University's Baccalaureate service is a multi-religious common space of reflection through expressions of art, song, spoken word, and dance, jointly developed by students and university faith leaders. Seniors should wear gowns, caps not required. Light reception to follow in Brooks Commons. Seniors, please click here to RSVP​.

Arrive at Cannon Chapel shortly before 4:30 p.m. for seating, wearing gown encouraged (caps optional). Service begins at 4:30 p.m.

Goizueta Business School BBA Graduation Celebration and Reception
Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, Emerson Concert Hall

This exciting event includes honors and awards, the commencement address, senior superlatives, performances, and a speech from the class orator, plus a great party to follow.   You will not want to miss this! 

Tickets required. Overflow viewing will be available at Goizueta.  Overflow viewing will have light refreshments available and is an ideal environment for individuals with young children or who may have limitations preventing sitting comfortably for the duration a 2+ hour program.


MONDAY, May 13, 2019


Graduates: You must be at the Main Quad to line up in alphabetical order by program by 7:45am. You will gather on the sidewalk between White Hall and the Atwood and Emerson Chemistry Buildings by program (BBA and MPA), get in alphabetical order and march in at the appropriate time following our faculty marshals. There will be staff members to help you get assembled.

Families: Please find a seat on the main quad when you arrive. You may want to look in the graduation program to figure out where the Business School will be seated on the quad. If you received passes for special seating for guests, ask an usher for directions.

Transition to the Goizueta Business School BBA  Diploma Ceremony
Approximately 10:45am

Following the ceremony, graduates will recess following the Marshals off the quad. All families and graduates need to come to the Woodruff PE Center after the University Graduation for the Goizueta BBA Diploma Ceremony.

Graduates: Follow the Marshal who will direct you to march off the quad as a group and proceed to the track at the PE Center. You will gather there in alphabetical order and march in at the appropriate time following our faculty marshals.

Families: When you are on the Quad, you will be facing the stage. You are also facing the gym, although you can't see it because there are buildings in the way. There will be signs directing you to the East or West Entrances to the Woodruff PE Center. You can get to the gym in the following ways:

  1. Walk past the stage to the right. Turn left and take the stairs down to the track beside the Woodruff PE Center.
  2. There are shuttles buses running. You can take the D shuttle from the front of the Administration Building to the Woodruff PE Center.
  3. If you have a special seating reservation, you may take a golf cart to the ceremony. We will have two golf carts that hold 8 people each. They will be running from the area between the Carlos Museum and the Administration Building to the Gym. This is on a space available basis.
  4. To walk with a wheel chair from the Quad to the Gym: Facing the stage, exit the Quad from the front right corner. Follow the sidewalk. Turn left onto the road in front of Cox Hall (clock tower). Pass the stop sign. Continue on the road. Turn left on the next road which is the entrance to the Woodruff PE Center. Follow the ramp to the elevator. Take the elevator down to the first floor.
Proceed into Woodruff PE Center. The Arena is on the first floor. Please take a program and find a seat. In the program, there is a diagram of the student seating, so your family may want to sit where they will be closest to you. There will be a professional photographer taking pictures of each student as he or she receives a diploma. Please remain seated for the entire ceremony.

Reception immediately following in the Jenkins Courtyard of the Goizueta Business School.  No tickets required.

Shuttle buses and golf carts will be available.

Graduates: To get your diploma, your row will be directed to stand up by the marshals. You walk to the right side of the stage and hand your index card to the person at the podium. You immediately start up the stairs. You should be on the edge of the stage when your name is read. You will shake hands with the Dean and receive your diploma. Please be gentle in shaking hands, the dean needs to shake hands with over 600 people! A professional photographer will take your picture. You will then return to your seat and sit down. At the conclusion of the ceremony, you will be dismissed and you and your family are invited to the BBA Program Reception on the Patterson Green at Goizueta Business School.

Graduates and their families are invited to join Goizueta Faculty and Staff for a reception.

In the Spring, students and their families will receive an invitation for the receptions.
