Graduation Requirements

Check with the Goizueta Registrar's Office (gbs.registrar@emory.edu) if you have any questions about meeting graduation requirements. If you activated FERPA (privacy rights), your name will not appear in the graduation programs and your graduation can not be verified. If you would like to change your FERPA status, please contact the Registrar's Office.

File your Degree Application

All students must file a degree application to graduate. These should be completed and submitted in OPUS by the degree application deadline. Students who do not meet the deadline must submit an electronic copy of the degree application via email to the GBS Registrar at gbs.registrar@emory.edu.  Additional required components of the graduation application can be found on the right side of the GBS Registrar website under "Instructions for applying to graduate online."

Regalia

Participants are required to wear academic costume at the Commencement ceremonies at the Georgia World Congress Center. For BBAs, this includes the cap, tassel and gown.  For all masters level students, including BBA/MPA and BBA/MSBA students, this includes cap, tassel, gown and hood. These can be purchased from the Emory University Bookstore. During the graduation ceremony, the tassel is worn on the right front corner of the cap and is moved to the left after the degree has been conferred.

You may purchase your regalia by visiting this website If you are shipping regalia to your home, the deadline is April 25.  However, if you are in Atlanta and wish to have your regalia shipped to the Emory bookstore for pickup instead to avoid shipping charges, the ordering deadline is March 12.

Tickets

All students participating in graduation in person at the GWCC will be required to register in advance and obtain a ticket for themselves, called a GradPass.  Students are permitted up to two guests maximum and will be required to register them as part of this process.  All guests will also have tickets that will need to be presented for entry.  Registration information will be posted here and shared with graduates in mid-March.
